I am a Designer. I am interested in the design, manufacturing, and production of almost everything.
I studied business and entrepreneurship at the university of oregon. During college summers I worked for my family's awning company & trained to be a wildland firefighter before camping most of the summer in the rain waiting for fires that never came. I also worked as a financial advising intern for Merrill Lynch in the summer of 2008 which was curious timing given the global financial crisis. After college I worked for Copper Mountain Ski Resort in Colorado for a season as a revenue accounting auditor where I double-counted roughly $100,000 in cash everyday and snowboarded during my lunch breaks. After the overload of finance and accounting jobs I needed a creative outlet. I worked for a few different startups(Distillery & Auto Garage) in Portland before starting full time with my family’s small business, Pike Awning. Pike Awning is a 15 person custom design and manufacturing company that has been in Portland since 1891. At Pike I worked on all manners of business, design, and manufacturing. In 2019 I spent a year in New Zealand doing graphic design for Pike as well as working for Waiheke Ceramics Factory. At Waiheke Ceramics Factory, I did production work most days but also helped them move to a new studio and redesign their workflow, rebrand the company, created a new website, and helped design new products. As of the fall of 2021, I have decided not to pursue managing Pike and instead I am pursing other opportunities in business and design.
